What we do

Auckland Airport Community Trust (AACT) was established in 2003 by Auckland International Airport Limited as a condition of the Environment Court following approval for the company to build a second runway at Auckland Airport. As part of this decision, the airport contributes $250,000 each year (adjusted annually for inflation) to the Trust to be used for community benefit.

Our focus

The primary focus of AACT is to provide financial assistance for noise mitigation. We help fund the installation of noise mitigation packages in homes located within the moderate aircraft noise area, as defined by the Annual Aircraft Noise Contours.

Beyond noise mitigation, AACT is passionate about supporting the wellbeing and growth of South Auckland communities. Since being founded, the Trust has distributed over $6 million in grants to local projects, with a focus on improving quality of life for residents living in current and projected noise-affected areas near Auckland Airport
